Serving Arizona, California, & Idaho

“I give more than I get in so many areas of life.”

“My relationships aren’t fulfilling.”

“I feel like I’m constantly in overdrive.”

“I can’t seem to get out of my own head.”

It’s difficult to find fulfillment and happiness in day-to-day life in the midst of anxiety or burnout.

You’re someone who holds a lot for others, whether that’s in your career as a helping professional or in your personal life as a caregiver, partner, or friend. And while this can be incredibly fulfilling in many ways, when your own needs aren’t met, this fulfillment can turn into resentment, exhaustion, and overwhelm.

Some people experience this as a “hamster wheel,” feeling like they never really accomplish what they want to in life. Others are living in constant “flight” mode, trying to keep all their plates spinning and not having the time to explore their own wants or needs.

Anxiety and burnout can also look like:

  • Low self-esteem

  • Resentment or regret

  • Increased conflict in relationships

  • Lack of motivation or drive in career

  • Physical symptoms such as poor sleep, chronic fatigue, IBS, or muscle tension

We’re designed to rest, slow down, and recharge.

I’m here to help you do that.

How burnout & anxiety counseling works

My approach to anxiety counseling includes holistic, body-based methods—strategies that can help us get more quickly to the root of your feelings and address them. We won’t simply talk about what’s going on; we’ll take real action to change it.

As your therapist, I’m here to support you in the day-to-day challenges as well as the deeper things behind what you’re facing. This is a place where someone else can help you carry the weight of what you carry for others and to gain a deeper understanding of yourself…so you can show up as your full self in every area of your life.

Regardless of the method(s) you and I decide to use, you will always be the one guiding our work together. You can choose how little or how much to share, what you want to focus on in specific sessions, and what our goals will be.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting can help rebalance your nervous system, decrease that feeling of constant overdrive, and process & release stored emotional stress.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing helps process difficult experiences and decrease the emotional response to them.

Somatic Experiencing

Your body sends many messages when you are anxious or burnt out. SE will help you connect to your body and access greater empathy for yourself.

You don’t have to feel like this forever.

Common questions about anxiety & burnout therapy

  • All of us experience stress, worry, or overwhelm at certain points in our lives. However, it’s when these things begin to influence our work, relationships that they become more severe. If you’re finding that these feelings are impacting your day-to-day life, it’s likely that it can be considered anxiety.

Anxiety looks different for different people: you might feel like life is out of your control or experience anxiety in the form of physical symptoms such as panic attacks, insomnia, or racing heart. Whatever form it takes in your life, anxiety therapy is here to help you identify the root cause of it and begin feeling like yourself again.

  • Many people experience anxiety and burnout at the same time; sometimes, one is due to the other. Burnout is defined as a state of chronic stress and frustration leading to physical/emotional exhaustion, feelings of resentment or detachment, or a sense of ineffectiveness. Anxiety is characterized by feelings of worry, nervousness, or fear.
